Isla de la Roqueta by Morning Boat

Isla de la Roqueta by Morning Boat

A ten-minute glass-bottom boat from Playa Caleta across the bay. Isla de la Roqueta is a small island with two beaches, a lighthouse hike, and snorkeling over the submerged Virgin of Guadalupe statue — a bronze figure on the sea floor visible through the glass-bottom boat and reachable by snorkel in clear water.

The beach on the island's north side is calm and shaded. The south side faces open Pacific and can be rough. The lighthouse trail climbs through scrub to a viewpoint over both bays and the Acapulco skyline across the water. Pack lunch or buy grilled fish from the beach vendors. The snorkeling is decent — tropical fish around the rocky points — but not Caribbean-level clarity.

Go in the morning before the afternoon crowds. The boat operators at Caleta will negotiate price. Sunscreen, water, snorkel gear (rent or bring). Back by midafternoon.
