La Costera After Dark Is Still the Main Event

La Costera After Dark Is Still the Main Event

Costera Miguel Alemán is the curved coastal boulevard that basically invented Mexican Pacific nightlife in the '70s and '80s, and the bones of that scene are still here. Palladium sits high on the hillside with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Acapulco Bay, and the view of the lit-up curve of lights hitting the water at midnight has been putting people in a good mood since the Reagan administration.

Down at sea level, Baby'O is the legacy room that still books big — it opened in 1976 and has outlived every trend that's tried to bury it. Dress code enforced, velvet rope still functioning, crowd still beautiful.

For something quieter, the Zona Diamante rooftops serve mezcal cocktails with Pacific views and no obligation to dance until four. Weekends bring the energy; Tuesday through Thursday you'll find the locals.
